    Enthusiastic comments and reviews continue to come in about the Civic Benefit presented by the Woman's Club on March 28. The 400 attendees viewed "eye-popping" original gowns after a "just right" lunch that ended with strawberry shortcake at the beautifully decorated tables at the El Paso Country Club. Those in attendance bid on exquisite silent auction items and purchased tickets for luscious raffle items. The weather was perfect, and everyone had a great time.

    Jane Berrier, 1st Vice President and Civic Benefit Chairman and Carolyn Breck, Co-chairman, announced the financial results of this annual fund raising event at the Guest Day Luncheon on April 15th. The net proceeds for the event demonstrate what can be achieved by Woman's Club members working with a motivated recipient for the benefit of those in need. Eleanor Poe, Executive Director of the E Paso Baptist Clinic, was presented a check from the Woman's Club for 75% of the event's net proceeds in the amount of $17,863.66 plus the table donations of $2,408.00 for a grand total to $20,271,66.

    The effort was well worth the return!
